Due to a schedule conflict Feb on 11th and 12th, everyone entering the 2012 OSCS Round 1 race at Reynard Raceway will also earn points in the MXStates Winter Series. However, not wanting to take advantage of the riders, Reynard Raceway has decided the costs (gate, entry fee etc.) and times will follow all OSCS. In essence, they will not be charging for the MXSTATES Winter Series race, but it will count for points in that series! All riders must have an OSCS membership. We are offering 1 day permits for those who aren't racing the OSCS series for $5, but we recommend getting a full year membership for $25. 2012 is going to be a great OSCS year!
So, long story short, all riders will earn points for both series during the weekend at no extra cost to the them or family. If you have any questions email Robbie at

NMA Announces the Ponca City Grand National Championship Motocross moves to new location
“The Ponca City Grand National Championship Motocross is moving to a bigger, better and a more convenient location” announced Ron Henricksen, President of the NMA. The OKLAHOMA MOTORSPORTS COMPLEX, located in Norman, Oklahoma has been designated as the new home of the Grand Nationals. Next year’s event will be held July 22 through July 28, 2012 at this new location. After a recent trip to Oklahoma and seeing this great facility and meeting with the enthusiastic property owners the decision was made to select this new location.
The OKLAHOMA MOTORSPORTS COMPLEX has all new 50 amp electrical hook-ups, plenty of pit parking and a 100% viewable track. A national Go-Kart facility on the property with kart rentals will be available during the Grand Nationals.
The city of Norman offers many conveniences to the racer families including 400 restaurants, major shopping malls and stores and excellent hotel accommodations. Sooner Legends Inn and Suites in Norman, Oklahoma will be Hotel Race Headquarters and they are offering special rates for racers during the Grand Nationals.
The new location will make travel for the racers much more convenient. The OKLAHOMA MOTORSPORTS COMPLEX is located on I-35 and is close to Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City. It will be closer for those traveling to Tennessee for the next major motocross event the following week.
The previous location in Ponca City was discovered by the NMA with the first NMA Ponca City Grand National Championship held there 33 years ago. At that time the city owned property was a riding area for local kids. The improvements to the property over the years are a result of many NMA man hours and dollars which transformed it into a nationally known motocross facility. The NMA Grand National Championship Motocross event at Ponca City has resulted in millions of dollars to Ponca City and their local charities.
Qualifying races for the 2012 Grand Nationals are currently being scheduled in the 40 regions across the country. The dates and locations of the qualifiers can be found at www.nmamx.com. The NMA and the OKLAHOMA MOTORSPORTS COMPLEX look forward to presenting a great 37th Annual Grand National Championship Motocross at the new location.
For many months I searched and searched… I knew he existed, he had to.. I’d seen the footage and heard the stories… In Oklahoma he is a legend, his supermoto feats on wet tracks are the envy of most men. When his rivals hear his name, they reply with “freak in the wet” and walk away shaking their heads.
A former Mx pro turned supermoto rider, he was the 1st person to put a Berg on the podium in the AMA. This year, whilst showing them all how to ride in the wet at Mettet – was forced to retire injured to an incident and a certain victory was gone. When I finally found him, he was teaching supermoto to underprivileged children on push bikes and agreed to a quick chat… For a fee…
So here is the end result of a quick chat with former actor/model and AMA star Monte Frank.
MF: “Damn, That was a sweet intro!!!!”
Monte, Pro MX’er to Pro SuperMoto.. Your obviously handy on a bike. Why the change to SuperMoto?
MF: “Well, I actually stopped racing MX full-time and started racing Legend Cars. I did that for 2 years and won a Semi-pro national championship then followed it up with a 2nd at the nationals in the Pro division. I decided i was getting bored with the cars and saw a SuperMoto race in Dallas ,TX. I thought it looked fun and went and bought a bike, I raced one amateur race in California then went pro two weeks later..”
So as a Pro, the world would believe it’s all private planes, flash hotels and factory bikes. Can you confirm or deny?
MF: “HAHA… Not in my world!”
There must be some training involved at the professional level. What sort of training do you do? How much track time do you do per week?
